Kaylee Hottle, an 18-year-old actress who appeared in two “Godzilla” films, died on Tuesday in a car accident in Frederick County, Maryland, police have said.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies responded to the crash around 2:52 a.m. after a 1995 Honda Accord, driven by a 19-year-old man, traveled off a two-lane road and struck a culvert. Hottle was one of two passengers in the car.
“Excessive speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the collision,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
Hottle was the only person in the car who died. The driver sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening, while the other passenger declined medical treatment.
Hottle, who was deaf, played the role of Jia in “Godzilla vs. Kong” and its 2024 sequel, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.”
She was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor for her role in the sequel.
