Gold thieves caught after dramatic escape in rickshaw

A gang of five men has been accused of stealing 80 tolas of gold in Gujranwala. According to a spokesperson of Safe Cities, the theft was reported via an emergency helpline, leading to a complaint against a domestic worker.

 

The gang, comprising three women and two men, allegedly targeted homes under various pretexts, gaining the trust of homeowners. Once inside, they swiftly executed robbery, making off with valuable gold items. This has raised significant alarm among residents in the affected areas.

 

Law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the case. Surveillance footage revealed that the suspects were seen escaping in a rickshaw. Preliminary investigations confirmed the gang's composition, with the women later seen fleeing in a car with their male companions.

 

Police have urged citizens to remain vigilant, verify the identity of any unfamiliar visitors, and report suspicious activity immediately. A virtual patrol officer of Safe City Gujranwala provided crucial evidence to the police, leading to the arrest of the gang. Legal proceedings are currently underway against the suspects.
