Minister of State for Law Barrister Aqeel Malik has said that the government made two attempts to arrange a phone call between PTI founder Imran Khan and his sons, but the calls could not be connected.
Speaking on a private news channel, Malik said that the government was implementing the court’s decision and had already arranged meetings between Imran and his sisters.
He stated that two attempts were made to connect Imran with his sons, but their WhatsApp number only showed “calling”. “Either there is a connection issue or they simply do not want to speak with their father,” Malik said.
He added that Imran’s sons have valid Pakistani identity cards but make excuses about visas.
Malik also said that state institutions and their heads were being targeted on social media despite the government taking steps to implement the court’s decision.
“If any tactic is used for political gains, the meetings could be suspended,” he said.
He also said that a warning had been issued to people who met with the PTI founder, accusing them of violating the undertaking given in court by engaging in political propaganda.
