The federal government has declared Wednesday, August 26, a public holiday to mark Eid Milad un Nabi, the observance of the 12th of Rabi ul Awal.
The Cabinet Division issued the notification after Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif approved it, confirming the holiday applies nationwide.
Muslims across the world observe the 12th of Rabi ul Awal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar, as the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
People mark the day with prayers, charity and a renewed commitment to his teachings, which continue to guide and inspire humanity.
