Pakistani drama critic Hassan Chaudhry has addressed speculation surrounding actress Ramsha Khan’s absence from social media, saying that her decision to stay away from the spotlight was her own choice.
Speaking on Something Haute with Aamna Isani, Hassan said that he had personally spoken to both Ramsha and her husband, actor Khushhal Khan, amid speculation about their relationship after their marriage.
The speculation intensified after Ramsha’s sister’s wedding, where fans noticed that Ramsha and Khushhal were largely absent from the footage shared online.
A video also showed up on social media, with some netizens speculating that the couple appeared in it.
Hassan said the absence quickly led to comments suggesting that Ramsha’s life had changed because of her marriage.
“I saw a huge number of comments saying things like, ‘This is what Ramsha has become after marrying Khushhal.’”
He said that he later spoke to both Ramsha and Khushhal and found them happy together.
“I spoke to Khushhal, and, mashallah, I also spoke directly to Ramsha.”
Hassan said that he asked Ramsha about the speculation that she had been prevented from putting in public appearances. According to him, she made it clear that she did not want to remain in front of the camera all the time.
“When I asked her about it, she said that she does not want to be in front of the camera all the time. She has thought about this a lot. I asked her what the reason was, and she made it clear that this was her own decision,” he stated.
Hassan also recalled that Ramsha had spoken in previous interviews about the kind of life she wanted after marriage. He said that old clips from those interviews had resurfaced since her marriage, with social media users interpreting her earlier comments in light of her current absence from the public eye.
He also linked the intense public attention surrounding the couple’s wedding to Ramsha’s decision to maintain greater privacy.
“Imagine having pictures from such an important occasion circulated everywhere, followed by trolling and speculation. You cannot know how much that can affect someone’s mental well-being.”
According to Hassan, Ramsha told him that she did not want her personal life to remain a constant topic of discussion on social media.
“She told me very clearly that she does not want to be in the spotlight and does not want her personal life constantly discussed on social media.”
Hassan urged Ramsha’s fans and media outlets to respect her decision and give her the privacy she wants.
“I can tell you that, mashallah, she is doing very well. She is still the same lively, funny and cheerful person we have always known,” he observed.
He also rejected speculation that Ramsha was being controlled or restricted by her husband.
“From speaking to her, there was absolutely no indication that she was being controlled, restricted, or ‘tied up’ by anyone.”
Hassan ended by asking fans to respect the couple’s privacy and send them good wishes rather than speculate about their personal lives.
“If you like them, pray for them and send them good wishes. If you don’t like them, then simply do nothing. Sometimes, doing nothing is also a lot.”
Ramsha Khan and Khushhal Khan confirmed their marriage in April 2026 through a joint Instagram post.
