American Twitch streamer and political commentator Hasan Piker paused mid-stream while discussing Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif’s meeting with United States (US) Vice President (VP) JD Vance and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir on the sidelines of the Lake Lucerne Summit not to analyse diplomacy, but to comment on the Pakistani premier’s impeccably tailored suits.
Piker, who was discussing Sharif’s meeting with US VP JD Vance and CDF Munir, said that he felt compelled to stop and acknowledge the prime minister’s tailoring.
“As a suit guy, I have to recognize that his suits are out of control,” he said. “That man does not miss, bro. He does not miss.”
He noted that Sharif does not get enough credit for his style despite consistently putting together strong looks. “Not even a big fan of the guy politically, but honestly, great fits,” Piker said. He also took a dig at himself in the process, saying that a person is not truly a suit guy until they are wearing matching pants and that Sharif genuinely throws fits non-stop.
Piker also brought up menswear commentator Derek Guy, saying he believed Guy would agree with his assessment. He noted that when men appear on the global stage, it is often leaders from non-Western countries who show up in the sharpest Western-style tailoring and that Sharif is a prime example of that.
This is not the first time Sharif’s tailoring has drawn attention internationally. In April, Derek Guy, editor of fashion magazine Put This On, flagged the prime minister on X for exactly that. He posted photos of Sharif alongside Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Nigerian economist Akinwumi Adesina, writing that “beautiful Western-style tailoring is often worn by men from non-Western countries.”
Guy had pointed to Sharif’s appearance at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where he wore a beige double-breasted coat with matching trousers, a light grey shirt and dark brown oxfords.
