Hong Kong martial artist, actor and filmmaker Jackie Chan greeted a Pakistani fan with the words “Hello Pakistan” at an event in Guilin, China, where he was unveiled as the global ambassador for China travel by Trip.com.
In a video that circulated widely on social media, a Pakistani attendee told Chan “love from Pakistan,” to which the actor responded with “Hello Pakistan”, a moment that quickly went viral.
The event, organised by Trip.com in the southern Chinese city of Guilin, drew a crowd of nearly 2,000 people. Chan was officially announced as Trip.com’s Global Ambassador for China Travel at the gathering, with the platform positioning him as the face of a campaign to encourage international tourists to explore the country.
Chan, known globally for multiple hit action films and a command over martial arts, holds near-legendary status in China, where his appearances draw large and enthusiastic crowds.
