Member of the Punjab Assembly, Hina Parvez Butt, has once again turned her criticism toward YouTuber Rajab Butt, this time reacting to a video involving his family and voicing concern over its impact on young viewers.
The clip in question, taken from Rajab Butt’s vlog, shows his mother pretending to be unconscious during a prank. After the act played out, she got up laughing, revealing that the scene had been staged.
Reacting to the video, Hina Parvez Butt said, “They get paid for these dramas. Even eight-year-old children are being corrupted watching them. This family has never played a single positive role in society.”
The comment quickly drew reactions from social media users. Some agreed with her stance, with one writing, “Simply block them and ignore them. That’s it.” Another said, “Please ban them.” A third pointed to the reality of the situation, noting, “People watch them unfortunately.”
This is not the first time the lawmaker has spoken out against the YouTuber and his family.
Earlier, she strongly criticised social media influencers, saying their followers risk damaging the values and upbringing of children.
Taking to her X account, she shared pictures of Rajab Butt, Ali Hyderabadi and Sami Rasheed, writing, “These are our social media influencers, our people follow these ignorant people. Children who follow them are ruining their upbringing. Parents need to think. Keep your children away from them.”
Rajab Butt maintains one of the larger social media followings in Pakistan, with nine million subscribers on YouTube and 2.9 million followers on Instagram.
