Countdown to #HBLPSL9 Anthem Excitement! @AliZafarsays is set to immerse his magic to the official HBL PSL anthem 2024. pic.twitter.com/SWQnRoVINA
PSL released a video on social media with the caption “Ali Zafar is set to immerse his magic to the official HBL PSL anthem 2024”, making it clear that Ali Zafar will sing the anthem for PSL season 9. The last time he sang the anthem for PSL was in 2018.
Just a few weeks ago, Ali revealed that he would not be performing the anthem for reasons he didn’t want to disclose.
Here is how social media users are reacting on it:
This guy was accused of harassment by several women and is fighting harassment cases. Yet he is still being offered a platform by one of the top cricketing leagues of the world. Absolutely shameful! It’s not like we have a dearth of good singers in this country. https://t.co/msV4H8TfqH

This deserves massive outrage and should not be normalized, PSL is setting a very bad example here. https://t.co/TjRoCIgsCN

We live in a country where harassers like him are given such platforms instead of being behind bars and people are celebrating it https://t.co/Orwl0lyBIQ

Such a shame, this is what women and their voices mean to you? Shame on you @thePSLt20 https://t.co/4KPDH5oCJa

PCB just doesn't actually care about women, whenever they make a decent stride they move 5 steps backwards.

Do they not realise how much much it will effect their brand image if it reaches international media, they just shot themselves right in the foot. https://t.co/qscTTy5FQU
It should be noted that in 2018 singer Meesha Shafi made allegations against Ali Zafar for sexual harassment. Meesha stated that she was sharing her story because she feels that speaking about such issues will break the culture of silence in our society.
