A mother has allegedly thrown her two-month-old baby into a rainwater drain in Murree’s Ghora village.
According to Murree District Police Officer (DPO), police recovered the baby’s body and registered a case against the parents, who were also taken into custody.
The mother, during initial investigation, told police that she already had six children and could not raise another child.
In another incident, Lahore police arrested a woman for allegedly dumping her 26-day-old son in a plastic bag in a drain within the limits of Sabzazar police station.
According to police, the woman put her newborn son in a plastic bag before throwing him into the drain.
Police arrested the woman after receiving information about the incident and recovered the newborn’s body from the drain.
A case was registered against the woman under the relevant attempted murder section of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of her husband.
Further investigation is underway.
