Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan has responded warmly after British-Pakistani Oscar and Emmy-winning actor Riz Ahmed expressed his desire to work with her in a film.
During his appearance on BBC Asian Network with host Haroon Rashid, Riz Ahmed said he is open to collaborating with Mahira Khan after a discussion around his recent project Bait. The moment quickly gained attention on social media after a clip from the interview circulated online.
In the interview, Haroon Rashid asked Riz Ahmed, "Your family makes a good point, Riz. Why haven't you done anything with Mahira Khan?" He added, "I think you'd look great together."
Riz Ahmed responded without hesitation, saying, "I'm ready. I'm here. Let's make it happen." He further added, "In Sha Allah. Let's do it."
Mahira Khan responded through an Instagram story: "I am ready too! Inshallah Xx," she wrote.
Mahira Khan remains one of Pakistan's most prominent actors, known for the iconic drama Humsafar and various films including Bin Roye, Verna, and the Bollywood production Raees opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Her recent work includes The Legend of Maula Jatt, the 2025 romantic film Neelofar opposite Fawad Khan, and the Eid 2026 release Aag Lagay Basti Mein alongside Fahad Mustafa. She also has an upcoming drama, Mitti De Baawe, slated for 2026.
Riz Ahmed is an Oscar and Emmy-winning British-Pakistani actor who recently created and starred in the Prime Video series Bait (2026), playing a struggling actor auditioning for the role of James Bond.
His other recent credits include Wes Anderson's The Phoenician Scheme (2025) and a modern South Asian adaptation of Hamlet (2025).
