Rapper Talha Anjum has addressed the controversy surrounding his interview with television host Nadia Khan, stating that she likely learned how to treat guests on her show. The remarks come months after an episode where Khan’s aggressive line of questioning drew widespread criticism from the entertainment industry and audiences alike.
Anjum received an Indian flag from a fan during a concert in Kathmandu in November 2025, Nepal, and draped it over his shoulders.
While the public reaction was divided, the rapper later appeared on Khan’s show to address the situation.
During that appearance, Anjum issued an “unconditional” apology, stating that he had lost track of things in the heat of the moment. However, the host’s conduct during the transmission prompted immediate backlash from viewers and peers.
Revisiting the incident on the Podcast with Mubashir Hashmi, Anjum explained that he agreed to the interview because one specific channel had targeted him, and he felt the need to clarify his stance.
“When the interview started, the way I was spoken to, I don’t talk to anyone like that and I don’t want anyone to talk to me that way. Sitting there, I felt like I was a politician,” Anjum stated.
He added that he corrected her during the recording, noting that while he still respects her and wishes her well, he believes she “must have learnt that you don’t do this”.
During the podcast, Hashmi criticized the treatment Anjum received, labeling it “completely unacceptable” and noting that senior artists who have performed in India supported the rapper.
Hashmi and Anjum also discussed what they termed “hypocrisy” regarding cross-border interactions. Hashmi pointed out, “When Diljit Dosanjh does a concert and invites Hania Aamir on to the stage, we celebrate”.
At the time of the broadcast, several Pakistani celebrities publicly condemned Khan’s hosting style.
Industry figures rallied around Anjum, drawing comparisons between Khan and sensationalist media personalities.
Actor Yasir Hussain and content creator Khaqan Shahnawaz specifically compared Khan’s approach to that of firebrand Indian television anchor Arnab Goswami.
Before the television appearance, Anjum had initially posted a defiant message on X stating he would “do it again,” though that post was later deleted before he issued the formal apology on air.
