Actress Saba Qamar has revealed that she once fell in love with a co-star from one of her films, three to four years ago, though she stopped short of naming him.
Qamar revealed the details at her first-ever meet-and-greet in London, held to raise funds for SKT Welfare at a charity event organised by Creative Teams.
Speaking to the audience, Qamar said, “He’s married now. It feels really strange. It happened a long time ago. Well, maybe not that long ago, perhaps two or four years back. But I had a crush on him. I was in love with him. Maybe I fell in love with his character.”
She clarified that the person in question worked with her in a film rather than a television project. “I’m not talking about a TV actor. I’m talking about a film actor,” she said, before adding with a laugh, “Oh shit, I’ve only done two or four films.”
The host of the event jokingly suggested searching for clues online, saying, “Quick, pull up Saba’s filmography. Google it quickly.” Qamar quickly shut that down, replying, “No, skip that, please. Delete this. No one is going to use it.”
She went on to reflect on the experience with humour. “Yes, it happens. You end up liking people, but…” she said, before sharing how her 14-year-old niece had helped her move on. “I was fine after that. My 14-year-old niece told me, ‘Auntie, you were working in the jungle and there was no one around, that’s why your mind had gone crazy.'”
Qamar has kept a steady presence in Pakistani cinema and television over the past few years.
On the film side, she starred alongside Zahid Ahmed in the action comedy “Ghabrana Nahi Hai” in 2022, followed by “Kamli” the same year alongside Sania Saeed and Nimra Bucha, a performance that earned her the Lux Style Award for Best Film Actress in 2023.
On television, she has built a run of acclaimed and closely watched projects, including “Fraud” and “Mrs. & Mr. Shameem” in 2022, followed by “Sar-e-Rah,” “Gunah,” “Tumharay Husn Kay Naam,” and “Serial Killer” in 2023.
She then starred in “Pagal Khana” in 2024, before taking on three prime-time dramas at once in 2025, “Case No. 9,” “Pamaal,” and “Muamma,” each airing on a different channel. As of 2026, she has also featured in “Khuda Gawah” and is set to lead HUM TV’s upcoming drama “Hurmat.”
Some of her most celebrated work remains earlier in her career, including “Baaghi” in 2017, which won her the Lux Style Award for Best TV Actress for her portrayal of Qandeel Baloch, and “Cheekh” in 2019, a courtroom drama that drew widespread critical praise.
