‘I have severe OCD,’ reveals Saheefa Jabbar
Actress Saheefa Jabbar has said that she has "severe OCD", dealing with which is a real and ongoing challenge.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or OCD is a condition that affects many people, causing them to repeat certain actions or thoughts. While it can range in severity, it often involves struggles with control and cleanliness, making everyday life much harder.
During her appearance as a guest on Faysal Quraishi's podcast, Saheefa opened up about her struggles with the disorder.
“I have severe OCD. I'm a clean freak and I think this is wrong... no one can come to my house and if they do, there's a line drawn. If you come, drink water, and put the glass in the sink. I don’t care who you are, how old you are or how famous you are... just put the glass in the sink,” she said in response to a question about childhood qualities she still had.
Saheefa also described how it impacted her daily routine and behavior. “We have domestic help but you can order food if you want as long as the bags and containers go in the bin. I have very bad OCD, and I’m very sensitive. I've been sensitive since childhood, and I still am, which is wrong,” the Rafta Rafta actress said.
She also talked about her struggles with gym anxiety, revealing that while she did go to the gym, she found it difficult to keep up with her training routine. “I go to the gym, but I have a very bad gym phobia. I pay the trainer, go for two days, but then I can't continue.”
Earlier, the Log Kya Kahenge actress had also shared her battle with depression. “I've been experiencing depression since 2013, but I didn't realise it at first. I thought I was just reacting to unfavorable situations. Eventually, I noticed that my panic attacks persisted even though I had a good life with loving parents, money, and a kind husband. That's when I realised I was dealing with depression and severe anxiety,” she had said on Ahmed Ali Butt's podcast.
“I didn’t have much exposure and knowledge about depression because I belong to a middle-class family where most people just have their normal graduation degrees and no awareness of things like mental health,” she had said.
Saheefa Jabbar starred in dramas such as ‘Teri Meri Kahani’ , ‘Beti’ , ‘Bhool’ , Choti Choti Batain’ , ‘Loy Kya Kahenge’ and ‘Rafta Rafta’.
