'I thought Honey was a girl' : Abrar-ul-Haq’s hilarious meeting with Indian singer

 Imagine getting a call from your manager, saying a ‘woman’ named Honey wants to collaborate on a song. That’s exactly what happened to bhangra king Abrar –ul- Haq leading to a hilarious mix up that would go down in music history.

 

Appearing as a guest on Black Box podcast, Abrar shared a funny encounter with the famous Indian singer Yo Yo Honey Singh.

 

"I remember that my manager called me and said, 'Sir, there's a girl Honey who wants to sing a song with you.' I said, 'Let it be, let it be.' A couple of days later, I got a call from the girl, but I still didn't know her name. It was Honey's call, and I was working on a drama. I said, 'I don't want to sing a song with her, you leave it.’”

 

 The situation took a surprising turn later. “After four or five days, I got another call from Honey's manager. I said, 'Honey has a manager too?' He replied, 'Isn't it Honey Singh?' I said, 'Crazy person, don't you know Honey Singh?' He said, 'Yes, the same one.'”

 

The incident is one of the funniest stories Abrar has ever shared

 

 

 Earlier, our very own bhangra king Abrar ul Haq, is popular both in Pakistan and India, where his music is widely enjoyed.

 

 During Hafiz Ahmed's podcast he shared insights into his career.  

 

Abrar Ul Haq said, “I received numerous offers from Bollywood over the years. I got offers for albums and films. Even Eros approached me, but I refused. They were shocked no one had ever said no to them,' he added. Despite friends urging him not to do so, he turned down a film offer with Katrina Kaif.

 

Explaining why he refused, he said, “They wanted me not to speak on certain issues so I could not work in a place where freedom of speech was not an option. Therefore I did not even do the film with Katrina Kaif."

 

Earlier, In a cross border collaboration of music, Indian rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh was release his upcoming album, ‘Glory,’ featuring artists from around the world, including Pakistan’s singers Wahab Bugti and Sahiban.

The album also includes contributions from Italian artist Laioung and American rapper Handles, making Glory a truly global musical experience. The album ‘Glory’ has 18 songs and will be released on August 26.
