In a special video released by Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI), Indian fast bowler Muhammad Siraj has revealed that he used to work in the catering industry. “My hands used to burn while flipping the bread in oven,” he said.
Siraj, who hails from Hyderabad, has looked back on his cricketing journey. “I used to get 100 to 200 rupees for the catering job and I was happy with it. I used to give 100 to 150 rupees at home and keep 50 for myself.”
While talking about his hometown he said, “Whenever I come to Hyderabad, the first thought is to go home and then go to Eidgaah. No matter where I go in the world, I can’t find the peace I get here.”
“I spent my childhood here, grew up here and all my friends are here. In 2019-20 I thought to give myself one more year. If nothing happens, I will quit cricket.”
However, he is now gearing up for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 where he will be seen representing Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the meantime, he is spending time with his family while taking advantage of the two-month break.
