‘I wish I had spoken more’; Radhika Madan’s emotional tribute to Irfan Khan
From TV screens to cinematic success, Radhika Madan’s journey has been remarkable, and her recent film Sarfira with Akshay Kumar has put her in the spotlight. During an interview with ETimes, Radhika Madan recalled her experience of working with the late great Irrfan Khan on the sets of Angrezi Medium.
“I was watching the film to show my friend who had never seen it before, and I couldn’t help but wonder if I would ever be able to make a movie like that. It was Irrfan Sir that came to mind.”
The actress revealed that she used to be really reserved on set and made an effort to give Irrfan Khan space.
“I was just focusing on my character and wanted to see him as just my father. I thought I would have a lot of time with him to discuss movies, acting, and craft after the film, but he was going through so much. I never spoke unless I was spoken to,” Madan added.
In Angrezi Medium, Radhikka played Irrfan’s daughter, receiving appreciation from audiences as well as critics.
Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29, 2020, after battling with a neuroendocrine tumor for several months.
