‘I won’t let blackmailers succeed’; Nazish Jahangir takes legal action
Actress and model Nazish Jahangir has stated that she has filed a defamation claim with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and registered a police case against people who have been trying to blackmail her.
Taking to Instagram Stories, she revealed that a Lahore court has canceled her arrest warrants, dismissing allegations against her.
“A group of blackmailers wants to defame and implicate me, but I won’t let them succeed,” Nazish Jahangir wrote. She further explained that she has taken legal action against those who allegedly threatened her life.
The actress also shared a video in which an unidentified person can be heard making threats against her. While the individual’s face is not visible, the audio clip highlights the nature of the threats.
Nazish Jahangir appeared before a Lahore court on March 22, where her arrest warrant was canceled, and she was granted bail on a surety bond of Rs 50,000.
Earlier, on March 21, Magistrate Ghulam Shabbir Sial had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for her in a fraud case, ordering her to appear in court the next day.
The actress faces allegations from aspiring actor Aswad Haroon, who claims she defrauded him and failed to return his money and car. In September 2024, the Lahore Sessions Court had also canceled her bail in the same case.
Nazish Jahangir previously addressed the allegations on Nida Yasir’s show in early March, calling them false accusations meant to blackmail her.
“An attempt was made to blackmail me with false allegations under planned propaganda,” she had claimed at the time.
Now, the actress has officially filed a defamation claim and initiated legal proceedings against the alleged blackmailers.
