ICC boosts Women’s T20 World Cup prize money by over 200%
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a significant increase in the Women’s T20 World Cup prize money, increasing it by over 200 per cent.
The total prize money for the Women’s T20 Showpiece event will be $7.95 million, more than 200% more than the previous event. The winning team of the Women’s T20 World Cup will receive $2.34 million in prize money.
A few days ago, the ICC also announced low-cost tickets for the Women’s T20 World Cup. The minimum ticket will be 5 dirhams, while entry to the tournament will be free for spectators under the age of 18.
This event was scheduled in Bangladesh, but the ICC has shifted the Women’s T20 World Cup to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following the deteriorating political situation in Bangladesh.
The 10-team tournament will be played from October 3 to 20 in Sharjah and Dubai.
