Actor and television personality Iffat Omar has revealed fresh claims involving singer Ali Zafar, questioning why he allegedly remained in contact with her for years while she publicly criticised him.

 

In a strongly worded statement on X, Iffat directly challenged Zafar to respond, saying she has evidence to support her claims.

 

“Ok, if I’m a liar, who took dollars to malign such a big celebrity… then Ali Zafar, why were you continuously sending me messages of your tender love and respect for 8 years? Messengers exist, so I’m not making this up, right? Even today, I stand by my claim - if you’re lying, why did you pray for me on Hajj and make sure I knew about it? Why send congratulations for my daughter’s wedding? Why, Ali? I oppose you under a foreign agenda,” she said.

As of now, Zafar has not issued any public response to the allegations.

 

Her remarks came days after she voiced support for Meesha Shafi following the verdict in the long-running legal case between Shafi and Zafar.

 

A Lahore sessions court ruled in favour of Zafar last week, ordering Shafi to pay Rs5 million in damages.

 

The legal dispute dates back to 2018, when Shafi accused Zafar of sexual harassment. Zafar denied the allegations and filed a defamation suit, saying that the claims harmed his reputation and caused distress to his family.
