I’m chilling’: YouTuber Luke Damant laughs off fake death rumours
Online death rumours often target celebrities. In the past such famous A-listers as Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and Charlize Theron have been victims of the online fake death rumours mill.
Imagine being declared dead online, and laughing it off. That’s exactly what Australian YouTuber Luke Damant did when fake death rumors about him spread across the internet.
The YouTuber, known for his adventurous travel vlogs and love for cheese parathas, recently became the subject of an unfounded rumor saying that he had passed away in Jalalabad, Afghanistan.
In his post, Damant jokingly wrote an obituary about his fake death, saying he turned into a cheese paratha while trying to break a Guinness World Record.
“Authorities are still trying to figure out how a man can possibly turn into a cheese paratha, but it is believed that the old saying is true…”
He expressed his disbelief over the rumors, saying he couldn’t believe people thought he was dead.
“I can’t believe I have to make this post. Guys, I’m f**ng chilling! I’ve been saying for years that the media fakes news, and now, hundreds of thousands of people think I’m dead in a single day," Luke Damant said.
While he joked about the viral fake death news, Damant made it clear that he had nothing to do with the rumors. "As much as I’d love to take credit for this genius marketing, I have to call it off. It’s gotten out of hand.”
The mock obituary humorously detailed how Luke had tragically ‘had his last paratha’ while attempting to break a Guinness World Record for the most cheese parathas eaten in one hour.
“ After a strong start, getting to 14 within the first 30 minutes of the challenge. It was at number 15, where Luke didn’t chew his paratha, swallowed, and after a 30 second struggle, he magically turned into one,” Luke humourously wrote.
Despite the silly rumors, Luke Damant stays positive and keeps traveling, sharing his exciting adventures with his fans.
