Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq faces uncertainty over his participation in the remainder of the second Test against England after suffering a calf strain while fielding at Lord’s.
Imam sustained the injury on the opening day of the Test. Scans later confirmed a low-grade strain to his left calf, with Pakistan Cricket Board’s medical team overseeing his treatment.
His participation in the remainder of the match will depend on his recovery.
The injury could leave Pakistan with a selection concern at the top of the order ahead of their first innings. Imam made 42 and 0 in the first Test at Headingley.
Pakistan made a strong start with the ball at Lord’s after winning the toss and opting to field. Mohammad Abbas led the attack with four wickets, while Mohammad Ali claimed three as England lost their top order.
England eventually reached 290 all out after resuming the second day on 248 for nine. The hosts added 47 runs through their final-wicket partnership, with Gus Atkinson finishing on 45 and Josh Tongue making 30.
Jamie Smith top-scored for England with 61, while Jordan Cox contributed 55.
England won the first Test by an innings and 103 runs, and currently lead the three-match series 1-0.
