Indian actor, writer and director Ambrish Verma has revealed that the title of his series Sapne Vs Everyone comes from a song by Pakistani rapper Taimour Baig.

Verma explained the choice in an interview when the host said that the title caught his attention while he browsed an OTT platform, and he asked who came up with it first. Verma said he did.

He said that writers usually keep a placeholder title while they draft, and his first choice was Sapne vs The World. “The Sapne vs The World format had already become very common, I think even Hollywood had some films like that,” he said.

Then he heard Baig’s song “Taimour Baig vs Everyone.” He said that he saw the title and thought, “This makes so much sense, and this is not something which is normally used.”

The song gave him a way to “give it a twist,” adding that “So then I called it Sapne vs Everyone.”

Baig is a hip-hop artist from Karachi, known for tracks such as “Long Time No See” and “Lajawab 2.”

Sapne Vs Everyone is a Hindi-language drama produced by The Viral Fever. It premiered in December 2023, on TVF’s YouTube channel and later came to Amazon Prime Video. Verma writes and directs the series and plays Jimmy Mehta, one of two dreamers at its centre.

Paramvir Singh Cheema plays the other, Prashant Narula, an aspiring actor. The series follows both men as they chase their dreams, one in acting and the other in real estate. Season 2 arrived on Prime Video in 2026.
