Television host Javeria Saud has posted a cryptic message on Instagram, taking aim at critics of Ramzan transmissions without naming anyone directly, but the internet had little trouble guessing who she had in mind.

The post came after Tabish Hashmi, speaking to host Nadia Khan, gave his take on viral morning show clips and staged Ramadan transmission calls. Hashmi said he sometimes finds such clips cringe and that hosts resorting to planted calls are not being graceful.

“Hosts get paid a lot, like myself, and I understand there is a competition of ratings, but doing all of this for ratings does not seem right to me,” he said.

Javeria, whose Ramzan transmission had earlier faced allegations of featuring planted calls, posted a cryptic but pointed response on Instagram, naming no one but holding nothing back.

She wrote, “Look who is talking! Jo log pura saal apny show men zoo mani ganday or ghair ikhlaqi mazak kerk or jo log jo Sara saal logo ki insult kar k khud rating ki dorh men aagay nikalna chahty hen un se ek mahina kisi or ka un se aagay nikal jana bardasht nahi horaha is liye ramazan kahatam ho jany k baad bhi aaj tak un ko criticise kar rahy hen jin se wo peechay reh gaey. Isay kehty hen ‘Soo sunhaar ki ek lohaar ki.’ Lagay raho poora saal hai tumhary PaaS!”

The comments section lit up. Tabish Hashmi had not named Javeria, and Javeria had not named him, but viewers thought they had connected the dots immediately.

“Planted calls py Javeria itni offend q hogai, Tabish ny konsa name lia,” wrote one user. Another pointed out the irony: “Lekin Tabish nai ap ka naam ni liya, is ka matlab ap hi hai.” A third was blunter, “Chor ki darhi mein jharu.”

Others pushed back on the comparison between the two formats altogether. “There is a huge difference between your Ramadan show and his comedy show,” one comment read, while another cut straight to it stating, “It means she is admitting that they had preplanned calls.”
