Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Ishaq Dar has come under criticism on social media after sharing a Hadith on X, with many users linking the post to the controversy surrounding Raza Dar, his alleged relative.

As per the details, Dar shared a Hadith describing the affection that Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) showed towards his daughter, Fatimah.

“Whenever Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would stand up to welcome her, kiss her, take her by the hand, and seat her where he had been sitting,” the post read.

It quickly attracted critical responses, with several users arguing that Dar should address the controversy involving his own family rather than sharing religious messages.

“Sir, what about your grandson? You people act so religious—was this the kind of upbringing he gave?” wrote one user, linking the post to the reported family connection between the deputy premier and Raza Dar, who is a suspect in the case pertaining to kidnapping and sexual assault of two foreign women in Lahore.

Another user cited an example from Islamic history, writing: “Umar ibn al-Khattab’s (may Allah be pleased with him) son committed adultery, and Umar personally took up the whip and punished him himself so that no one would feel sympathy for him or say, ‘He’s the Commander of the Faithful’s son,’ and go easy on him.”

A third user commented: “And your grandson is violating people’s honour. Instead of preaching these lessons to the nation, you should teach them to your own family. The nation loves the Ahl al-Bayt more than it loves you.”

The criticism follows the high-profile case that drew widespread public attention after Lahore police registered an FIR alleging that two foreign women had been abducted, sexually assaulted and held for ransom.

The initial report named five suspects, including Raza Dar.

Police said the women were rescued and several suspects were arrested following a swift operation.
