The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has dismissed a misconduct complaint filed against Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Muhammad Asif, which alleged that the judge utilised his position to influence the investigation into a fatal traffic accident involving his underage son.

As per the details, Colonel (r) Inam Ur Rahim had submitted the complaint, asserting that Justice Asif violated the judicial code of conduct by using state machinery to coerce survivors of the two young women killed in the crash, which ultimately led to his son’s release on bail.

The SJC reviewed the matter during a meeting on May 14 and subsequently notified Rahim of the outcome. The council has not publicly disclosed the detailed reasons behind the dismissal, but the decision effectively concludes all proceedings against Justice Asif before the SJC.

Per the details of the accident, it took place in December 2025 near the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) as a speeding SUV, allegedly driven by the judge’s 16-year-old son, Abuzar, struck a scooter.

The collision resulted in the deaths of the two women who were employed by an event management company.

Following the incident, a judicial magistrate had granted bail to the accused after the families of the victims formally pardoned him during a court session.
