President of United States (US) Donald Trump has reassured Israel about the latest military escalation between Washington DC and Tehran, stating that Israel remains safe under his leadership.

In a phone interview with Israeli public broadcaster KAN, Trump addressed concerns over the regional conflict. When asked about the potential threats facing Israel, Trump stated, “Israel should not worry. You know why? Because I’m the president and I will take care of Israel.”

Trump expanded on his position, framing the military operations against Iran as a defense effort for Israel, the Middle East and Western nations. Speaking on Wednesday, Trump argued that unchecked Iranian aggression would extend beyond the region to impact Western cities.

“We’re doing it to help the Middle East. We’re doing it to help Israel. We’re doing it to help ourselves because after they annihilate Israel, which they would have done very gladly, and then the Middle East, then they come after Europe and they come after some of our cities,” Trump said.

He added that the US is “doing really well with Iran.”

The statements come amid a fresh flare-up that ended a roughly month-long lull in regional fighting. Over the weekend, US forces struck rocket launchers on Larak Island in Iran. Tehran responded by firing missiles at targets in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

While Iran has launched strikes across multiple countries in the Middle East during this current round of conflict, it has refrained from directly striking Israel.

In response to the tension, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced earlier that Israel stands prepared to respond “with great force” if Iran attacks during the upcoming Jewish holiday season, which starts next week.

Trump’s comments fit a broader pattern of his public statements regarding Middle Eastern security, where he frames US backing for Israel as a personal guarantee rather than a standard bureaucratic alliance. In previous statements, Trump has repeatedly declared, “Without me, there would be no Israel.”
