Punjab lawmaker Hina Parvez Butt has criticised YouTuber Rajab Butt and TikToker Mr Patloo, saying their continued popularity reflects the influence of “ignorant people” and could contribute to children “falling prey to waywardness”.
“As long as ignorant people exist, the free ride of characters like Raja Butt and Mr. Patloo will continue, and our children will keep falling prey to waywardness…” Butt said in a post on X.
Her remarks come amid several controversies involving Rajab Butt, including recent criticism over an insensitive joke about child abuse that resurfaced online.
During a live broadcast with fellow YouTuber Zaid Ali, Rajab compared Ali’s flat facial expression with that of a child who had been sexually abused and not paid by the abuser.
The clip was widely shared on social media, drawing condemnation from several Pakistani celebrities.
Rajab later apologised in an Instagram story, describing his comments as “extremely inappropriate”, saying that such a joke was unacceptable regardless of his intentions.
He acknowledged that similar jokes had been normalised in gatherings among boys but said this did not make them acceptable.
He also apologised to people whose feelings or past trauma may have been affected by his words.
Rajab said the video was old but acknowledged that its age did not excuse the remarks. He added that he was trying to become more mindful and responsible about what he says and its potential impact.
The digital creator has previously faced several controversies. In 2025, he was booked under blasphemy and cybercrime laws after launching a perfume named “295”, a reference to a section of the Pakistan Penal Code. He later apologised while performing Umrah.
He has also faced legal cases involving the illegal possession of a lion cub, public display of weapons and promotion of betting applications.
