Police in Karachi have launched a manhunt on Friday after two men forcibly entered a residence in Gulshan-e-Maymar and sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman.

Gulshan-e-Maymar police registered the case under Sections 376 (rape) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) following a complaint filed by the victim’s father Javed Iqbal.

Iqbal works at a carpet shop in Bahadur Goth, while his wife works as a domestic helper.

According to the police report, both parents left the house for work at approximately 9:00 AM on July 23, leaving the daughter alone inside the home.

The complaint states that two men, wearing shalwar kameez, entered the home shortly after the departure of the parents. The two individuals overpowered the victim, forced her into a room, sexually assaulted her, and fled the location.

“At around 9.15am, two boys forcibly entered our house. Both were wearing shalwar kameez. My daughter can identify them if they are brought before her,” Iqbal stated in the official police complaint.

Investigators continue operations to locate and arrest the suspects.
