South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy after suffering a back injury.
According to Cricket South Africa, Nortje's injury was confirmed after a scan on Monday. He was part of South Africa's 15-member squad for the tournament but is now expected to miss the event as he won't recover in time.
Cricket South Africa will announce the replacement later.
The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to start on February 19 in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
