Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has responded to Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's recent remarks, warning that Pakistan's armed forces would defeat India "even more humiliatingly than before" if New Delhi choose to escalate.
Posting on X, Asif dismissed Singh's statements as an attempt to stay relevant, saying that the Indian minister "should give statements in line with his position."
He pointed to the contrast in global standing, arguing that Pakistan is currently the focus of international attention while India is not being engaged in the same way.
"India is five to six times larger than Pakistan and has far greater resources," Asif wrote. "That said, millions of Indians still sleep hungry on footpaths."
He added: "If they pick a fight, then by the grace of Allah, our armed forces will beat them even more humiliatingly than before."
The post came in response to Singh's address in Thiruvananthapuram, where the Indian defence minister warned that any move from across the border would trigger an unprecedented response.
