Pakistani actress and television host Kiran Khan has married businessman Mirza Ishtiaq Baig, the former husband of late pop icon Nazia Hassan.

Khan shared photos from the Nikah ceremony on Instagram. The pictures showed the couple together after they performed Umrah in Makkah. She described the pilgrimage and the marriage as two blessings arriving at the same time.

Baig built his public profile partly through his marriage to Nazia Hassan in 1995. Their relationship ran into difficulties in later years, and the couple separated before untimely Hassan’s death from cancer in 2000. Various claims and statements about that marriage have surfaced in media reports over the years.

Baig has been married before Khan as well, with this marriage being described as his third.

News of the Nikah drew congratulations from several Pakistani celebrities, including Nida Yasir, Azfar Rehman, Saadia Imam and Nadia Hussain, who shared good wishes for the couple.

Away from his personal life, Baig is well known in Pakistan’s business and philanthropic circles. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Baig Group of Companies and founded the Make-A-Wish Foundation Pakistan, which supports children with serious illnesses.
