Actress Komal Aziz Khan has officially announced her permanent departure from the entertainment industry, revealing that she stepped away from acting five years ago after completing her last drama Mohlat in 2021.
In a heartfelt statement posted on her Instagram account, Komal explained that she wanted to leave showbiz behind and focus on building her business and achieving financial independence.
She delayed the announcement because she wanted to avoid public attention and give herself time to establish her business and commit to a life outside the entertainment industry.
“The reason I didn’t announce this earlier was because I wanted to avoid the attention of this news,” she explained, adding that she also wanted to see whether she could build a successful business and find the strength to stay away from a world that had once played a major role in her life.
Komal described the past five years as a deeply personal journey of healing and self-love. She revealed that stepping away from the limelight allowed her to reconnect with herself and find the peace she had been seeking.
“Sometimes you have to walk away from everything you have ever known to find the peace your soul has been searching for,” she reflected.
The actress also wrote about her personal life, clarifying that she has not yet married. She expressed faith in Allah’s plans and asked her fans to pray for her future, good fortune and continued success in business.
“On a personal note I have not yet entered the beautiful chapter of marriage but I have faith that everything will happen in the time Allah has written for me,” she wrote.
Thanking her fans for their continued love and support, Komal acknowledged the special place they hold in her life, despite her long absence from television.
“To everyone who has loved me, supported me, and stood by me through the years, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You gave me a kind of love that I will carry with me forever,” she added.
She closed with a promise to her fans. “Thank you so much for all your love,” she wrote. “I promise to return it to every one of you ten times over.”
Khan worked in television from 2015 to 2021. Her dramas include Ishq-e-Benaam (2015 to 2016), in which she played Areeba and earned a Hum Award nomination for Best Soap Actress. She also appeared in Saheliyaan, Bay Khudi, Bisaat-e-Dil, Bharosa Pyar Tera and Raaz-e-Ulfat. In Kasa-e-Dil (2020 to 2021), she played Shireen.
Mohlat, her final drama, aired in 2021. Khan played Nawera, the second wife of Dawar, a character played by Sami Khan. Kinza Hashmi played Dawar’s first wife, Maham.
