A 10-year-old domestic worker has suffered a broken arm after she was allegedly assaulted at a house in Lahore for breaking a glass tumbler, police have said.
The girl, identified as Iman Fatima, worked at the residence of a man named Waris in Nabi Pura, according to police.
Police registered a case on the complaint of her father Safdar after the incident.
Sheikhupura District Police Officer (DPO) Bilal Zafar said that Elite Force constable Zunaira, who was allegedly involved in the assault, has been arrested.
Further details about the case were not immediately available.
In a separate incident in Sheikhupura, a 12-year-old domestic worker, identified as Zainab, was allegedly tortured to death at the residence of Chaudhry Rafaqat, where she had worked for around a year and a half.
Her family accused the homeowner’s wife of beating her with sticks. Police arrested one suspect and launched raids to apprehend others allegedly involved in the case, a private media outlet reported.
