The Lahore High Court (LHC) has prohibited video recording, photography and filming of TikTok videos across its courtrooms, corridors, waiting areas, offices and other premises, with the restriction applying to lawyers, police personnel, journalists, litigants and visitors.

The notification, issued after approval by Chief Justice Justice Aalia Neelum, allows recording only within an area specifically designated for journalists.

According to the notification, anyone found violating the prohibition will face action in accordance with the law.

It added that, where legally authorised, the mobile phone or other recording device used in the violation can also be confiscated.

The restriction covers the principal seat of the LHC in Lahore as well as its benches in Bahawalpur, Multan and Rawalpindi, according to the distribution list attached to the circular.

The notification specifically distinguishes the designated media area from the rest of the court premises, meaning journalists will continue to be permitted to record within the area allocated to them.
