Lahore police have been tasked with arresting the remaining suspects involved in the May 9, 2023, riots at the upcoming Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally, scheduled for September 21.
All Station House Officers (SHO) have been ordered to comply, while Divisional Superintendent of Police (SP) will monitor the strict security measures, police officials told Express Tribune.
Police sources have also disclosed that cameras will be installed at all rally locations, ultimately helping the police to recognise the remaining May 9 suspects.
Meanwhile, PTI is adamant about holding the rally in Lahore on September 21 despite legal challenges.
Aleema Khan, sister of founder PTI Imran Khan, stated that Lahore women will lead the rally, adding that”Whenever Lahore rises, all of Pakistan follows.
