An 18-year-old boy died at a Lahore hospital on Monday, a week after two men allegedly assaulted him and forced Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) into his body at a decanting shop in Hafizabad.
According to the FIR [First Information Report] registered on Sept 14, the victim, Ali Hassan, was allegedly intercepted by Mudassar and Majid at a local market in Kot Ishaq, within the Vanike Tarar police jurisdiction.
The complainant, Ghulam, told police that the suspects took Hassan to their LPG decanting shop, overpowered him and allegedly pumped gas into his rectum.
He said that Hassan began crying in pain, prompting locals to reach the shop and take him to a hospital. The two suspects escaped from the scene.
As Hassan’s condition worsened, doctors referred him to a hospital in Lahore for further treatment. He died there on Monday.
Police registered a case against Mudassar and Majid under Sections 324, 285, 286 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) following the incident and launched an investigation.
According to the complainant, the two suspects had previously teased Hassan and he had confronted them about it a few days before the incident.
Ghulam alleged that the confrontation led the suspects to hold a grudge against Hassan and torture him by pumping LPG into his body, which ultimately resulted in his death.
Police added that both suspects have been arrested and that further investigations are underway.
