Veteran actor Mohammad Ahmed has addressed the controversy surrounding a viral video that appeared to show co-star Fahad Sheikh mocking him on set, sharing an Instagram post asking fans not to harass anyone involved in the incident.
Ahmed said he holds no complaints against Fahad, actress Jenan or the rest of the cast and crew. “Please know that I have no complaints against Jenan, Faizan Shaikh, the director, the crew and anyone else who was on set,” he wrote in the post that came soon after it was revealed the actor he had referred to in a recent interview was Shaikh.
He added that the people on set did not deserve backlash simply for laughing during the moment. “They don’t deserve anger or vitriol simply because they laughed. Sometimes people laugh when they are uncomfortable or because they are unaware of how much it is impacting someone else.”
Ahmed said the cast and crew have always treated him with respect. “They have all shown nothing but respect for me for as long as I have known them. I had an issue and I addressed it,” he wrote.
“I appreciate the people’s support but I want to request them not to harass anyone. Let’s all move on.”
The controversy began after Ahmed appeared on Sheeba Khan’s podcast Dareecha, where he described an on-set exchange that left him feeling humiliated.
He said a much younger co-star mocked him repeatedly in front of the cast and crew, making uncomplimentary remarks about his appearance and questioning his relevance in the industry.
Among the incidents he recalled, Ahmed said the actor once took a small hand fan from a female co-star and held it over his head like a blow-dryer, telling those present, “Look, I am styling his hair.”
He said he did not react at the time because he was unsure who around him was recording.
A video later surfaced showing Fahad holding a small hand fan over Ahmed’s head in the same manner, saying, “Everyone is against you,” while people around him laughed and Ahmed appeared visibly uncomfortable.
With the video going viral and Shaikh’s identity disclosed, he denied bullying Ahmed, saying the clip was taken out of context and misrepresented their friendly on-set relationship.
He said they had worked together on several projects and often joked like family, insisting there was never any intent to disrespect Ahmed.
Shaikh added that he had already apologised privately and was willing to apologise publicly as well out of respect for his senior. He also confirmed that legal action was being initiated against those who shared the edited clip to mislead the public.
