Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sharmila Faruqui has compared living in Karachi to living in Paris during an appearance on a private television channel’s show.
During a segment where guests had to complete fill-in-the-blank statements, the host asked, “Living in Karachi is like living in ___.”
Faruqui paused for a moment before answering, “Living in Karachi is like living in Paris.”
Her response drew applause and smiles from former cricketers and other guests present on the show.
In another round of the same segment, she was asked about something she could never give up. “I can leave politics but I cannot stop watching dramas,” she said.
Sharmila Faruqui currently serves as a Member of the National Assembly on a PPP ticket. She previously served as an adviser to the Chief Minister of Sindh and later headed the Information Department during Qaim Ali Shah’s tenure as Chief Minister.
