Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan attended a fundraising event for Palestine in London on Sunday, where she spent time engaging with attendees, answering their questions and expressing support for the humanitarian cause.
The event, organised by Luxe Events UK, brought together members of the British-Pakistani community in solidarity with the people of Palestine.
During a meet-and-greet session at the event, Mahira was asked a question that took the conversation in a more reflective direction. A reporter asked her about the criticism she has faced throughout her acting career and whether any of it had actually helped her grow.
“Ooh, lots. Lots, by the way. I remember so much, actually. I take criticism well, I feel. Well, I don’t know. I’m not sure. But I don’t mind listening to someone telling me, ‘Listen, this is something that you didn’t do right,'” Mahira said.
She then recalled a specific piece of feedback from early in her career, tied to her expressive eyebrows on screen.
“For instance, my eyebrows, right? So, my first drama was with Mehreen Jabbar, who is a brilliant director, right? And she said to me, what is going on with that? And I’m like, I know, I have a problem. I’m too expressive and they go everywhere, right? And she’s like, yeah, but control it,” Mahira stated.
The interaction added a personal, candid moment to an event centred on charity. Beyond her comments on criticism, Mahira was also asked which actress she would most like to work with next, choosing between Sajal Aly, Hania Aamir and Iqra Aziz.
She made clear that while she shares a warm relationship with all three, they are not part of her close circle of friends, adding that their busy schedules leave little room to meet regularly.
Mahira has previously supported Palestine-related fundraising efforts organised by Luxe Events UK, including a similar event in London where she wore a green gown designed to reflect the colours of the Palestinian flag.
On the work front, Mahira was last seen in Love Guru, Neelofar and Aag Lagay Basti Main. She has also earned praise for her performances in Razia, Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, Aik Hai Nigar, Sadqay Tumharay, Bin Roye and Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad. She will next appear in the upcoming drama serial Mitti De Baway alongside Wahaj Ali.
