The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested a man within 15 minutes of receiving a complaint about the alleged harassment and blackmail of a ninth-grade student, following directions from Director General (DG) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

The action was taken during the DG NCCIA’s e-court proceedings after the school principal lodged a complaint about the matter.

The student was reportedly being harassed by a boy who began blackmailing her after asking her for a picture.

The boy reportedly continued making demands, which the girl complied with, before the situation escalated.

The school principal had arranged to meet the student at 1:30pm to address the matter and sought police intervention.

During a conversation about the case, a speaker directed police personnel to reach the school immediately and instructed them to contact Station House Officer (SHO) Zahid Shah.

The officer was told to reach the school within 15 minutes and meet the woman handling the complaint.

The NCCIA acted on the complaint under the direction of Rizvi, resulting in the suspect’s arrest within the stated timeframe.

The agency has also reported dismantling an international child sexual abuse network involving the alleged production and sale of explicit videos of children.

NCCIA Additional Director Mohammad Shoaib Khan told a press conference in Islamabad on Sunday that the case was the first in Pakistan’s history in which a father had been found involved in such a crime against his minor children.

Khan alleged that the suspect made videos of his children, aged between four and five, and sold them through secret Telegram groups using cryptocurrency.

Investigators also uncovered footage showing animal abuse, he added.

The alleged ringleader, a resident of Skardu, was arrested with assistance from international agencies. Investigators identified links in Islamabad, Multan and South Punjab, while raids were under way to arrest other members of the network.

“Those involved in such heinous crimes will be brought to justice,” Khan declared.
