Man dead in firing incident at foreign food restaurant

A man has reportedly been killed in a shooting at a foreign food chain outlet in Sheikhupura, while the attacker managed to escape.

According to a media report, the unidentified attacker entered the restaurant and opened fire on a man working in the kitchen of the eatery.

The deceased has been identified as Asif Nawaz, son of Muhammad Nawaz, the media report quoted a police source as saying.

District Police Officer (DPO) Bilal Zafar Sheikh said that the motorcycle-borne assailant fled the crime scene after the shooting. Upon receiving information about the incident, a heavy police contingent reached the scene, and an investigation is underway.

“A contingent of police was deployed to the spot. Police forensic experts have collected evidence from the crime scene,” the DPO said.
