A 23-year-old woman has accused her cousin of fleeing after raping her in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi.
According to a private media outlet, the woman on Sunday lodged a complaint against the accused at the Defence Police Station.
Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said the woman visited Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for a medical examination on Saturday, which confirmed the assault.
The woman, a resident of Korangi, told police that she was on her way to the NADRA Mega Centre in DHA to get her computerised national identity card (CNIC) when her cousin, who was riding a motorbike, offered her a lift.
Instead, he took her to an empty house in DHA Phase-VII and raped her, the woman stated in the FIR.
She said the suspect brought her to JPMC when her condition worsened, calling her elder sister and fleeing.
DIG South Syed Asad Raza has issued orders for immediate arrest of the suspect while investigation is underway.
