A man was shot and wounded in the leg following a dispute over a parking spot at Kot Lakhpat Auto Market in Lahore, while police have registered a case and launched a search for the suspected shooter.
The incident occurred in the Chung Amarsidhu area after an argument broke out over where to park a vehicle, according to police and local reports. CCTV footage of the incident has also emerged online.
The footage reportedly shows the suspect slapping the victim during the argument before drawing a firearm and shooting him in the leg.
The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police said in a post on X that a case had been registered on the complaint of the injured man’s brother.
The victim, who was wounded in the firing, is currently out of danger, the police added.
Authorities said that the vehicle allegedly used by the suspect had been taken into custody. Investigators are examining CCTV footage and using other technical methods to identify and trace the suspect, according to the police.
Police said efforts were under way to arrest the suspect and bring him before the law.
The incident has prompted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Police have not provided further details about the suspect’s identity or the motive beyond the reported dispute over parking.
