Actor Maryam Nafees has spoken out against violence targeting women in the country, sharing a pointed post on her Instagram Stories that sparked widespread discussion online.
“Instead of testing things on animals, test them on rapists. What are they gonna do, say ‘no’?” read the post that drew immediate support from followers, with many sharing it across platforms.
One user commented, “They should be used for medical research.” Another called it the best idea they had heard.

A third added that the same treatment should apply to those who carry out acid attacks. One woman, however, pointed to a more immediate concern, “This idea is great, but in this country, getting a rapist arrested and sentenced in the first place is the bigger challenge.”
The reaction reflects growing frustration over a string of violent incidents targeting women across the country.
On June 7, a hospital employee threw acid on one Dr Mahnoor at Civil Hospital Quetta, causing burns across her face, chest, legs and other parts of her body. Later, the suspect, Humayun Shah, a lift operator at the facility, was killed by police as he tried to flee.
Another case surfaced recently in which an 18-year-old girl in Model Town died from complications following an abortion after allegedly being gang raped by her employer’s son and driver, with the matter concealed for months before coming to light.
While both incidents drew widespread reactions, they were, unfortunately, not singular events as the country continues to witness a significant spike in cases of sexual assault or violence against woman in recent months.
