Pakistani actress Meera has come under discussion on social media again after CCTV footage appearing to show a confrontation with her domestic worker went viral.
The footage, which has circulated widely on social media platforms, appears to show Meera in a heated exchange with her maid, with some viewers alleging that it shows a physical altercation.
In an earlier video, the maid, identified as Yasmeen, had accused Meera of assaulting her physically. She claimed Meera had beaten her several times and showed what she described as injuries to her face and other parts of her body.
A new statement from the maid has since emerged in which she denies that the incident took place, calling the video AI-generated.
Police have clarified that the CCTV footage currently circulating is not recent. They said the footage dates back to June 2026 and that the matter has already been investigated.
According to media reports that quoted the police, the domestic worker confirmed that the dispute was resolved mutually and recorded a statement saying that she did not want to pursue legal action against Meera.
Meera has previously made headlines over an alleged altercation involving a makeup artist. She has not yet publicly commented on the latest controversy or the resurfaced footage.
Meera has built her career across Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi films. She played a lead role in the 2008 Lollywood film Salakhain and debuted in Bollywood with the 2005 Indo-Pakistani film Nazar. In 2010, she played the titular role in Husan Ara Kaun and later appeared in Bichday Toh Ahsaas Hua.
She won the Best Actress Award at the 3rd Delhi International Film Festival in 2014 for her performance in the psychological thriller Hotal. In 2016, she announced her directorial debut with the project Oscar and played Naseem Dilruba in the drama Mein Sitara, which earned a Lux Style Award nomination.
