Pakistani actor Moammar Rana became emotional while speaking about rumours of a separation from his wife, saying that he hopes the marriage will not end and that the couple will reconcile.

Rana spoke about the rumours in a recent interview where he admitted that the matter has reached a court of law. “I signed some papers in court, but I do not know which documents they were,” he said.

The host asked him which relationships supported him in difficult times, and Rana grew emotional. He said that his father, brother and sister-in-law stood by him, but his wife and daughters did not. “My wife and my daughters were not with me in this difficult time,” he claimed.

Rana then asked for privacy. “I have my honor, so let me keep it. I do not want to say much. I love my family very much. I just want all of this not to end.”

The host asked him specifically about signing khula papers. Rana repeated that he signed documents in court but did not know which papers they were. He stressed that he loves his wife and daughters deeply. “I do not want to end my relationship with my family,” he stated.

Rana made his film debut in 1996 with “Kudiyon Ko Dale Dana”, in a second lead role. He won the Nigar Award for Best Actor for the Punjabi film “Choorian” in 1998, then again for “Nikki Jaee Haan” in 1999, “Mehndi Waley Hath” in 2000 and “Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa” in 2002.

His other films include “Mujhe Chand Chahiye”, “Koi Tujh Sa Kahan”, “Jhoomar”, “Love Mein Gum”, “Azaadi” and “Aar Paar”. He won Best Film Actor at the Lux Style Awards for “Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa” and “Koi Tujh Sa Kahan”.

Rana also works in television. He appeared in the Hum TV drama “Mere Paas Paas” in 2005, which earned him a Lux Style Award nomination for Best Television Actor.

He is also preparing to make his directing debut with “Sikander”, a film in which he plays the lead and which has been in the works since 2015.
