Wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have been declared ineligible to play domestic cricket, media reports said Friday.
According to reports, Rizwan and Imam will not be able to play the President’s Trophy Grade One as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has declared it compulsory for all players to undergo fitness tests and their respective teams to submit the reports before the players feature in first-class cricket.
However, neither Rizwan nor Imam has a fitness report on record with their department, without which both stand ineligible.
While Rizwan is vice-captain of Sui Northern Gas, and with captain Shan Masood unavailable for the first round, he was set to lead the side, Imam is the captain of OGDC. Both Sui Northern Gas and OGDC are due to play their first matches tomorrow (Sept 12).
Earlier, both players were recalled from Pakistan’s tour of England, and investigations against them are currently underway over financial matters and suspicious transactions.
An important aspect of the investigation involves alleged dressing room leaks during the England series, which is being probed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
