Mohammad Rizwan produced a brilliant double-century for Peshawar Region against Faisalabad in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold 2026-27, remaining unbeaten on 200 off 252 balls.

The wicketkeeper-batter struck 35 fours and one six at a strike rate of 79.37 to help Peshawar post a massive first-innings total of 503/4 in 115.2 overs before declaring their innings.

Rizwan reached the milestone on the second day of the four-day match at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, adding 89 runs to his overnight score of 111 not out.

He shared a 246-run fourth-wicket partnership with Najab Khan, who scored 133, before joining Mohammad Haris for an unbeaten 130-run stand for the fifth wicket. Haris contributed 70 not out off 69 deliveries, including nine fours and two sixes.

The double century comes at a challenging time for Rizwan off the field, as he continues to face an inquiry by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

The agency is investigating allegations of online betting and gambling relating to cricket, as well as matters connected to information leaked during Pakistan’s Test tour of England.

Rizwan appeared before the NCCIA in October for questioning.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court allowed the agency to continue its inquiry but directed it not to harass or unnecessarily inconvenience the cricketer. The inquiry does not establish any wrongdoing by Rizwan.

Rizwan’s innings marked his second first-class double century, following his previous 224-run knock in 2014.

Peshawar declared at 503/4 after 115.2 overs, putting Faisalabad under pressure in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold encounter.
