Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered the removal of the entire staff of the Gujranwala Regional Passport Office (RPO) after finding the office closed before official timings during a surprise visit.
According to official sources, Naqvi reached the RPO on Thursday unexpectedly and found only one staff member present while the rest of the office was empty.
Sources said that cleaning work was underway when the minister arrived while people were not being allowed to enter the premises.
Naqvi questioned the official present in the building about the absence of other staff members but was not given a satisfactory explanation.
Following the inspection, the minister ordered the removal of the entire staff at the Gujranwala passport office. Sources said the order was implemented immediately.
